Guard-Tech was approached by a large Middle Eastern oil company, situated in Dubai, to manufacture and supply a large Z Axis Cross-Slide Telescopic cover complete with large Scissor & Damper mechanisms on a Mori-Seiki NL3000/3000.
The company flew two of our design engineers to the site in Dubai, headed by lead engineer Tony Janicki, and accompanied by Damien Gravenor (Just out of time Apprentice) they had with them the very latest in measuring apparatus, added to that the very latest in Autodesk Inventor Design software, for Real Time Drawing & Design on state of the art platforms".
Having invested heavily on the design side, this has allowed us to tackle the more difficult and demanding of projects, the engineers were on site for around 3 to 4 days which allowed them to obtain the data required.
Once back to our UK base, we then set about drawing and designing the guard, again in 3D inventor which allows us to see all moving parts, once all the drawings were prepared and sent for full customer approval, the next stage was production.
We manufactured the guard on the very latest CNC machines supported by Amada UK for absolute "Pinpoint Accuracy" from start to finish the guard took approximately two weeks to manufacture and assemble by our highly trained staff headed by Richard Crossley works Manager.
Upon completion of the guard, we then ran it on test in operation mode, on complicated bespoke test jigs to commission the guard and to make sure the customer was getting 100% ROI.
The guard was then crated, with full rust and damp preventative measures undertaken before being shipped to the customer in Dubai.
